Proposal for ‘Imagine what it can do for you…’

TREATMENT

THE IDEA/CONCEPT:

“Imagine what it can do for you…” is a series of 4 short 30 sec infomercials. These would inform the employees of E-teck about the various applications of two newly installed computer programs, “Process Manager” and “Objective”. Additionally, these infomercials would seek to help the employees to enhance their performance, efficiency and organizational skills, which would in turn relieve on-the-job stress and make their work lives easier.

In each of the advertisements there would be one main person who would be sharing on the problems they first encountered. This person would communicate to us the various programs that have improved their performance.

OBJECTIVES:

1) To educate the company’s employees about the use of new office software so as to enhance performance, efficiency and organizational skills.

OVERVIEW/ SYNOPSIS:

This project would seek to highlight the common problems employees face and also show them how to eradicate these problems with new software programs, “Process Manager” and “Objective”.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

These four 30 secs infomercials would be geared towards the office staff at E-teck.

GENRE:

Educational/ Drama.

THE STYLE OF THE PRODUCTION:

Stylistic approach for these 30 sec ads would include the creation of an atmosphere, which is business like yet comfortable and allows the audience to be involved with the characters. The characters would speak directly to the screen. Another important stylistic element is the rapid movement of the camera to catch the action as it occurs in the office space.

LOCATIONS:

This film would be shot at the Port of Spain branch of E-teck.

SARAH BROWN

Hello my name is Sarah Brown and as a new employee settling in was a hard. Everything was so new. I felt lost, and my supervisor was too busy to show me the way....

At the same time she in interrupted by a door closing loudly in the background. LONG SHOT camera pans to the noise and her supervisor can be seen hustling to attend a meeting. Camera follows supervisor and shot ends on MEDIUM SHOT of Sarah.

SARAH BROWN cont'D

INFORMERCIAL #2

Doris Tube is a mature woman, she is at her desk typing away at the keyboard. She glazes up and smiles, she continues typing.

DORIS TUBE

Hello my name is Doris Tube, I would tell you scheduling meetings used to be tedious process performing these tasks, you had to fill out the form, get the form approved, and then take the approved form to admin who then checked that the form was in order.

FLASH BACK (fast forward): of Doris Tube performing these tasks.

MONTAGE: CLOSE UP: Doris filling out a form.

MEDIUM CLOSE UP:As she get the form approved by her supervisor.

CUT TO

Doris who is now looking up at the camera while at her desk.

DORIS TUBE

Sometimes it could be so frustrating. Thanks to Objective that is no more. Workflows automatically email meeting requests for approval. Once the approval is granted, it forwards the document to admin along with a notice that it has arrived so that they can complete the process. No more running around...I can do it all with just a click of my mouse!

While she is talking a work colleagues Brain would is in his early 30's walks up to her cubicle listening to the conversation and agrees.

BRIAN CARR

It is true come take a look at this.

The camera MEDIUM LONG follows Brian around Doris desk. POV as Brian he reaches for her mouse and demonstrates,

BRIAN VOICE OVER

( as this is demonstrated)

The workflow feature in Objective is so useful...When I create a new project it automatically creates all the required subfolders so that project data is stored in the same way every time. More than that I can access templates for the documents that I need to create, as well as use historic documents from past projects as examples. The best part is that I can use aliases and saved searches to allow me to see the information the way I want it. Great! Don't forget to met me at lunch.

When showing the many capabilities of the software his voice over can be heard..

He moves away and camera follows him down the hallway he passes Sita, camera follows Sita as she moves quickly to her desk.

INFORMERCIAL #3

Sita Ramlogan is XXXXXXXXX

SITA RAMLOGAN

Hello I'm Sita Ramlogan, I remember this one time...my manager needed me to find a contract document from a project that was completed back in 2005. In 2005 I was just finishing my degree...I didn't even know about eTeck. I literally spent hours searching through drawer after drawer in the eight cabinets that house our department records...If only I had Objective back then.

MONTAGE: CLOSE UP: Sita searching through tons and tons of files.

SITA RAMLOGAN

(demonstrates)

Objective's repository feature allows me to map the location of the physical file against the electronic version so that I always know where all my documents are. No more tedious searching. Everything I need is always at my fingertips!

Presented on full screen.

SITA VOICE OVER

I used to have a mortal fear about losing documents...I was burned by that before and it wasn't happening to me again. To protect myself I used to make, save and keep personal copies of everything. It was a mess...all this documentation I had to be responsible for.

MEDIUM SHOTS:

Sita Photocoping

Sita's Desk getting full of files

All the files on Sita's desk collapses on her.

SITA RAMLOGAN

Not anymore though. Since objective came along I don't have to be afraid of losing anything. The electronic copy of the document is always there, safe and secure; and if I need the physical copy, I can get that too - thanks Objective....if it works for me, imagines what it can do for you.

She smiles and goes back to work.

We're working to make your work easier...to ensure that the information you need is always available right at your fingertips...to simplify your tasks...organize your data...to save you time!......we're working to create an environment where sharing and collaboration are the standard...so that I can benefit....from the work that I've already done...and so together we all benefit.
