Saturday's class notes

Hello Everyone,

Thanks so much for the class on Saturday - it was lovely to see you all. I'm glad that they information was useful.

I have to get ready to fly back to Barbados in an hour so I will send more detailed notes later if necessary.

But briefly-

Here are the due dates for your Producer assignments:

1) Proposal................................ due October 14th

2) Contracts & Legal Documents............. due October 23rd

3) Script Breakdown & Scheduling........... due October 28th

4) Budget & Cash Flow...................... due November 13th

5) Post production/Delivery......................... semester deadline for university assignments (possibly late November... to be confirmed)
Proposals

SOME NOTES ON WHAT WAS COVERED ON SATURDAY

CONTRACTS: You need to set up a company or ENTITY to house the project. Transfer all the rights in the project to the Entity. And then the Production entity makes contracts with everyone: cast crew, suppliers, investors etc.  You guys made very through lists of all the contracts you need. For specific examples you can find online.

BUDGETTING: The template we used was EP Budgetting which you have to buy, but Renee said she found a template online that is just as detailed. Please can you send it to everyone?

PROPOSALS: Your proposals are due this week. Please post to blog.

SPONSORSHIP: I will try to find a better Sponsorshup template than the one I gave out. The most important part of it is the Sponsorship Benefits (tiered ie Platinum, Gold, Silver, etc) that articulate what advertising you will provide in exchange for how much money.

PS Some people are still not signed up to the blog. Can you tell them to send me their emails? I have unprivatted the blog so people can see it who are not signed up.
